Seajet Antifouling Compatibility Table

A new antifouling coating may only be applied over an old coating that is sound, clean and compatible. The Seajet compatibility table indicates whether the existing coating can be overcoated directly or whether an adhesion or barrier coat is required.

How to use the compatibility table

  1. Identify the manufacturer and exact product name of the existing antifouling.
  2. Find the old product in the table and read the recommendation for the required Seajet antifouling.
  3. Check the condition and adhesion of the entire existing system. Loose, cracked, blistered or flaking layers must be removed back to a sound substrate.
  4. Clean, abrade and prime only in accordance with the current technical data sheet for the product used.

Important: A primer cannot stabilise an unsound old coating. If the existing product is unknown, use a suitable barrier coat after careful assessment or rebuild the complete coating system.

The table is a selection aid. The current technical data sheet, the condition of the substrate and the specified overcoating intervals remain decisive.

Check product selection and quantities

The antifouling configurator considers the old coating, hull material, cruising area and use. The comparison table lets you compare suitable products by speed, coverage, pack sizes and colours. Barrier, adhesion and epoxy primers are available in the antifouling primers collection.
